Basic Policy and Initiatives for the Protection of Personal Information

We believe that it is our social responsibility to appropriately handle and protect personal information in all aspects of our corporate activities in order to protect the rights and interests of individuals. We comply with the Act on the Protection of Personal Information and other related laws and regulations, and we have set out our Basic Policy on the Protection of Personal Information below and will develop internal systems and strengthen initiatives for the protection of personal information.

Acquisition of Personal Information

  • (1) We will clearly state the purpose of use and obtain consent from the individual concerned when acquiring information from customers or other individuals (the “Individual Concerned”). We will notify the Individual Concerned or announce the purpose of use when acquiring personal information indirectly from parties other than the Individual Concerned.
  • (2) We will use lawful and appropriate means to acquire personal information.

Use of Personal Information

We will use personal information within the scope of the purpose of use, and only employees with specific authority may use personal information, and such use will be limited to the extent necessary to perform their duties.

Provision of Personal Information to Third Parties

We will not provide personal information to any third party without the prior consent of the Individual Concerned, except when there is a legitimate reason, such as when provision is required or permitted in laws and regulations, etc.

Secure Management of Personal Information

  • (1) We will appoint a Chief Personal Information Management Officer, assign a personal information management officer to each department that manages personal information, and implement appropriate secure management measures to protect personal information.
  • (2) We will take necessary and appropriate security measures against risks such as inappropriate access to personal information, or the loss, destruction, alteration, or leakage of personal information.
  • (3) In the event of entrusting the handling of personal information to a third party, we will select a contractor acknowledged as handling personal information appropriately. We will make arrangements for the secure management of personal information through an outsourcing agreement and other means, and conduct necessary and appropriate supervision.

Disclosure, Correction, Suspension, Erasure, etc. of Personal Information

We will appropriately respond to requests from an Individual Concerned for disclosure, correction, suspension of use, and erasure, etc. of their personal information based on prescribed procedures.

Ongoing Initiatives to Protect Personal Information

We will establish a compliance program for the protection of personal information, and will continuously review and improve the program through regular audits and other means.
