Takara Harmonist Fund

This provides subsidies for research and other activities to protect forest, grassland, and waterside natural environments.

Takara Shuzo (now Takara Holdings) established the Takara Harmonist Fund in 1985 to mark its 60th anniversary. Every year since, the Fund has provided subsidies for activities that protect the natural environments of Japan's forests, grasslands, and watersides, and research into protecting the plants and animals living there.
In FY2023, the Fund provided support for a total of ten groups or individuals, including Mr. Hirofumi Naekawa who is trying to discover the reasons behind the decline in the red-rumped swallow population during the mating season. Over the 38 years of its existence, the Fund has supported 411 projects, paying out a total of 194,461,000 yen in subsidies.
