This provides subsidies for research and other activities to protect forest, grassland, and waterside natural environments.
Takara Shuzo (now Takara Holdings) established the Takara Harmonist Fund in 1985 to mark its 60th anniversary. Every year since, the Fund has provided subsidies for activities that protect the natural environments of Japan's forests, grasslands, and watersides, and research into protecting the plants and animals living there.
In FY2026, a total of 10 organisations and individuals will be subsidised, including Kyoto Firefly Network, who will conduct a project to 'Activities to preserve and maintain waterside environments where fireflies fly in Kyoto City'. In 41 years, a total of 442 grant recipients have been awarded, with a total of 209,110,000 yen in subsidies. -
